Zabile , affectionately known as Zar by those close to her, is a 31-year-old who is originally from Ulundi. She now lives in Blackburn and brings warmth, skill, and a deep sense of community to her work. Zar matriculated from Tholukukhanya High School in Ulundi and later pursued a course in Early Childhood Development. She also trained as an HIV/AIDS counsellor—demonstrating a passion for helping others and making a positive difference in her community. Zar comes from a large and loving family, living with her parents and being one of six children. She describes her family as a strong support system where everyone helps each other through life’s challenges. This deep-rooted connection to family values shines through in her work and interactions with colleagues. She finds great fulfilment in weaving, a craft that offers her peace and focus. “When I do weave, it allows me to focus and forget all the negativity of the world,” she says. “I have gained so many skills and techniques, and I’ve learned how to overcome challenges. Working at Living Well Interiors, you gain a family. The atmosphere is very warm. I love being at work—this is my second home.” Outside of work, Zar enjoys Zulu dancing, drama, and watching football. She is an enthusiastic supporter of the Orlando Pirates and brings the same energy and passion to everything she does. “Something I wish others knew about me is that I love people, and I love helping them.” Zar concluded.
